Pick up from your hotel in Kigali and transfer to Musanze, the gateway town to Volcanoes National Park. En route, enjoy scenic views of Rwanda’s legendary rolling hills and lush countryside. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy a relaxing afternoon surrounded by the breathtaking landscape of the Virunga Mountains. Your guide will brief you on the gorilla trekking experience ahead. Dinner and overnight at your lodge near Volcanoes National Park.
Rise early and transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a 7:00 AM briefing by the park rangers. Set off on your gorilla trekking adventure through the mist-covered volcanic forests in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. Spend a magical and humbling hour in the presence of these magnificent mountain gorillas — an experience that words cannot fully capture. Return to the park headquarters and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking in the stunning Virunga mountain scenery. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast, transfer back to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a morning golden monkey trekking experience. Trek through the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of the rare and enchanting golden monkeys — a subspecies found only in the Virunga volcanic region. Delight in watching these lively and colorful primates play and forage in their natural habitat. After the trek, enjoy lunch before transferring back to Kigali for drop off at your hotel — End of tour and our services.
